President of Niles Audio Corporation, possesses a formidable background in the consumer-electron IntelliControl ICS business. His experience and expertise span marketing, sales, and product development.

Sterns is responsible for all aspects of the company's strategy and operations and is focused on accelerating the pace of innovation while remaining true to the company's roots.

Frank became president of Niles in January of 2006, after serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. He succeeds company founder, Ivan N. Zuckerman, who left the company in July 2005 after its sale to Linear LLC. Sterns reports directly to Linear Chairman/CEO Grant Rummell. During his tenure at Niles, he has been actively involved in product development. He holds four patents for products developed at Niles, and four others pending. They are:

  • No-strip speaker-wire terminal.
  • "Eyeball" tweeter for AT Advanced Technology Loudspeakers.
  • Rotating tweeter-adjustment mechanism for AT Advanced Technology Loudspeakers.
  • Design for OS10SI Indoor/Outdoor Stereo-Imaging Loudspeaker.
  • Two-piece twist-and-lock baffle-to-frame design (pending).
  • Pivoting tweeter for DS Direct Soundfield Loudspeakers (pending).
  • In-wall snap-in baffle (pending).
  • Pivoting/rotating tweeter for in-wall loudspeakers (pending).

Before joining Niles in 1992, Frank was national sales manager at Infinity Systems, a Harman International Industries, Inc., company that is one of the world's largest manufacturers of high-fidelity loudspeakers. He directed sales management for Infinity's 11 brands of home, car, and high-end speakers, and supervised the company's regional sales managers and internal sales order staff.

Earlier in his career, he was national marketing coordinator at The David Hafler Company, a manufacturer of high-quality electron IntelliControl ICS for home and professional use. He began his career in retail audio sales at Leo's Stereo, a southern California chain.

Frank earned a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from California State University. He is a member of the Audio Engineering Society, the American Management Association, CEDIA (the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association), and PARA (the Professional Audio Retailers Association).
